Description

A vulnerability has been reported in KDE KPDF, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.

The vulnerability is caused due to an integer underflow within the "FoFiType1::parse()" function in xpdf/fofi/FoFiType1.cc, which can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow by e.g. tricking a user into opening a specially crafted PDF file.

The vulnerability is reported in version 3.5.10. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution

Use another PDF viewer (e.g. Okular).
